Our Programs

High School Advising

I will usually start with students in 9th and 10th grade, though I often sign students up in spring of 8th grade to talk through courses for high school before it starts. We talk through interests, passions, favorite courses and subjects, and spend time getting to know one another. This work we do at a younger age is a great foundation to the College Advising Program for 11th and 12th graders. We do a lot of basic work like exploring majors, high school activities, developing a four-year high school course plan, and SAT/ACT diagnostic testing (if needed). If you have a student who is college bound, this is a great beginning to that journey.

College Advising

The College Advising programs cover the 11th and 12th grade years. We work together to establish, research, and hone a college list. The student will also work on structuring activities, researching potential majors, and will be provided timelines for application work. We will brainstorm essays and tackle the application in bite-size pieces. I don’t like to assign too much to a student in each meeting so I can keep this as stress free as possible. Because of that, we will meet regularly through junior and senior years to develop the college list and application plan. This program covers up to 8 or 12 college applications.

Hourly and Consulting

If you aren’t sure you need a more comprehensive program or have a special need (transfer or graduate application work), I can work with students on an hourly basis. Families are charged in 15-minute increments for advice, meetings, essay and application review, and any other consulting provided.
